I Provided my inventory to GREAT AMERICAN VAN LINES, INC. DAVIE, FL And I was giving a binding price of $1852.00. the sales rep and the dispatch manager TONY GONZALEZ Were nice but once I paid the $200.00 deposit everything change, these people are wolves in sheep's clothing. they will give you a low price to earn your business, when they loaded my furniture which did not change my final price was #4,678. I have since contacted the department of transportation to go after these thieves, Avoid GREAT AMERICAN VAN LINES, INC. DAVIE, FL

Fabulous move with great american van lines. They did it again. They moved me from Short Hills,NJ to Cary, NC. They moved my 4 bedroom house to NC and I recently had to move back to NJ for my company ,and called them up to move me back. These guys did another great job and stuck to the estimated price. I would just like to recommend these guys to anyone who has future plans of moving. Thank you again great american for the best service and the professionalism in which they handled my move.

Terrible customer service. Completely ignored all requests, wouldn't even answer emails. Inventory list was accurate, estimate was terrible and the "extra" costs were exorbitant.

I felt compelled to write a review for these guys because I find that these days finding an excellent moving service is pretty rare. Being somewhat skeptical after hearing the salesperson's promises over the phone, I decided to go for it and book my move with these guys. Well, moving day came, and I was really impressed. The movers came right on time, and got right to work, stopping only for a few minutes every couple of hours. They were careful with the fragile things I warned them about (my art collection). A++ would definitely move with them again!

I was hesitent at first to move with Great American, despite the mostly great reviews online, because I have a really sentimental attachment to many of my belongings; they're irreplaceable to me. Trusting a group of movers I didin't know kept me up the entire night before, despite being reassured by the salesperson that I had nothing to worry about. Now that moving day has passed, I felt obligated to write a positive review for these guys. Not only did they keep their promise of moving everything with the utmost care, but they didin't waste any time doing it either. I can't thank these guys enough, I've already recommended them to friends and family, with similar results. highly recommend, would use again (but hopefully I won't have to... I'm finally getting used to texas!)

Used great american to move me to kentucky. Was a little skeptical as there are some bad reviews which could scare some people but everyone i spoke to there was very polite and helped me out. I have referred them to some of my friends and haven't heard one complaint so thanks guys for taking care of me and my friends. Good company definitely recommend.

These guys have the movers bait and switch trick down packed. They will give you a good quote, only to switch the price on you on the original move date. They are shady, liars and thieves. STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!!
My stuff was damaged and they are no where to be found. Do yourself a favor and go with the slightly more expensive movers that give you piece of mind and take care of your stuff.

hi my name is yakir i orderd a moving service from GREAT AMERICAN VAN LINE. the service was to move all my household stuff from new brunswick new jeresy to los angeles california. the service include: picking the stuff from my house in jeresy and deliver them to my new adress in california *and put all the furnitures and the boxes in my apt *inside my apt so i agree and gave them all my stuff they arrive to los angeles on the 14 of may at 23:15 and the service employees of this company was very rude and very loud they was trying to ask for more extra money from me for all kind of diffrent thinks that was not told me before and then when i refused to pay them more they left all my stuff on the first level of parking lot under my building and i had to carry them myself from 12 midnight to 4 in the morning i also damaged some of my stuff while doing it i am very upset about this company i called the manegment for weeks with no answer i just dont want it to happan again to someone

THEY DO NOT PROVIDE YOU THE APPROPRIATE MATERIAL TO PROTECT YOUR FURNITURES, THEY GIVE YOU BAD ESTIMATES, THEY TAKE VERY, VERY, VERY LONG TIME TO SEND A SIMPLE INSURENCE FAX TO THE BUILDING WHERE YOU ARE GOING TO MOVE TO. THE TRUCK, VERY LIKELY, WILL BE SMALL FOR EVERYTHING YOU HAVE TO PUT IN. ALSO TAKE CARE OF YOUR VALUABLE STUFF. IT MAY SUDDENLY DISAPPEAR!!! I REALLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM TO DO YOUR MOVING! YOU WILL HAVE A BIG HEADACHE!THIS IS NOT A COMPETITOR WRITING THIS REVIEW. IT IS A COSTUMER!

I worked for a few summers delivering furniture so I have a very good appreciation for moving and how much of a pain in the a** it can be. This company is AWESOME. From the 1st phone call to the last item unboxed and placed the Professionals were just that - courteous, on-time, didn't pressure for tips, nothing broken or scratched . My wife and I have several pieces of heavy furniture including a sofa sleeper that's a beast and the three man crew moved it down four flights like it was a fold-up card table. The job came spot on the estimate and they give you plenty of heads-up on the extras packing materials but its at your option. I forgot to mention that it was snowing and they didn't even track thru the new house...UNBELIEVABLE! I will recommend The Professionals to whoever asks me for a moving company and they'll get my call every time.

I am an extremely detailed, organized and particular person. I also spend time doing research and getting several estimations before hiring any business. Within 15 minutes of meeting ADAM from MIRIT GREAT AMERICAN, I felt completely at ease. He answered every question, wrote down every detail, and explained the entire process. By the time the estimation was over, and without getting any other estimations, I knew I was hiring them. Our closings turned into a nightmare and ADAM worked with us with the most patience and understanding. Never once was I made to feel pressured about timelines. He always reassured me that I had nothing to worry about with them, and never once did they ever mention money or additional fees. BENI and his crew were polite, funny, friendly and professional. Not one item was broken or even scratched. They truly made what is usually the most stressful part of moving, the easiest and most enjoyable! THANK YOU MIRIT GREAT AMERICAN

I've moved three times in the past year, most of the time with different companies but I just had the best move on the last week with Mirit Great American Van Lines. They gave us a very accurate estimate over the phone and help us plan our move. Soon their long Distance dispatch called us and confirmed the job and went over the details. He also seemed very polite and professional, and assured us everything is going as it planed and the movers will come tomorrow @ 9 – 11 am. Not only did they show up on time but they packed nearly our entire apartment. Shortly after arriving, the Forman provided us with detailed information about the day and they started to work right away. Thank god they came with extra boxes and moving supplies and actually that we didn't even realize we will be needed! The packing obviously took much longer but once we arrived at our house they unpacked us in record time and even help us to reassemble some of our furniture. They have a modus operandi for cheating :
I contacted great american van lines at new jersey on phone number : 201-451-3000 abd talked to DANA ,she gave the loest quote and i got

trapped and then started my journey for agony. they cheat , plunder you for money , and have no customer orientation.
Aafter the deal was finalised for 1150 , they charged me 237 on credit card and asked me to pay 300 while pickup and rest while delivery.
But during pickup ,they charged me extra and took $600 (my friend paid since i was already in wa by then) and counted

I was very happy with Great American Van Lines and the service they provided, their rep Nathan was great and the guys that did the move performed quickly and professionally. I would definitely recommend Great American to my friends and family.

I used to receive a shock at the very thought of moving somewhere in USA but Great American Van Lines made me overcome this feel in blink of an eye! They are a trusted name in the USA moving market & serve to large number of customers for much lower price. Despite low charge, they were top of things & managed everything like a real professional. The way they packed & offloaded our stuffs was really notable. So good was their packing skills, that I was unable to find a single scratch on any of my possessions. I am very satisfied with their moving service & would recommend them to everybody in near future.

I have recently moved with Great American Van Lines. They helped me relocate successfully. The movers were well behaved and did everything to make me feel comfortable. From start to finish, everything was organized superbly to eliminate the possible hazards. They explained me the moving expenses along with few techniques of saving money while moving. Four men were in charge of getting my belongings ready. They packed and loaded all my stuff. I followed the moving van till the weighing station. As a door to door relocation service provider, the movers were supposed to drop my belongings at my door step, which they did just on time. Overall, it was a very good move.

I never wrote an online review in my life but this time I really want to warn others and hopefully make this company go out of business! We had horrible experience with them! They were nice only when they booked us but after that the trouble begun.
We told them the furniture must be delivered before 5pm and thus we had to schedule a delivery time early enough. Initially they agreed all was fine. Then they simply IGNORED this deadline and scheduled the movers late in the afternoon.
When we called to ask about when the truck would arrive, a guy with a Russian accent (we did not get his name) behaved like a jerk saying that it was not his problem that the truck was scheduled so late and that he would call us back. when we called back he was actually making fun of us. It was unbelievable, they behaved very unprofessionally! Unfortunately, we were not able to move our stuff because of the deadline delivery we had. We had to cancel the delivery and find a different moving company.

I don't typically write online reviews, but I had such a dreadful experience with this moving company that I want to be sure that no one else has to suffer through a move with this company's incompetence. NOTE: Great American Van Lines and Mirit Great American ARE THE SAME COMPANY - both with addresses on Halladay Street in Jersey City. This makes it next to impossible to track them down or to report them to the BBB.

PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Our moving experience was horrible. They were rude, unprofessional and underhanded. I am immensely relieved that it's over, but it's hard to move past the nasty, cheated feeling and the extreme distaste that came from dealing with this wretched company.

I booked this move with a person named Brian, who gave me a rough estimate and was very professional with the booking. Upon pick-up, their foreman told me he would have to increase the charges due to the amount of items- he went through in detail the source of all of the charges and was very transparent and honest. I had no problem with this and tipped him and his crew very generously. He told me it would take 7-10 days and that I would pay the remaining balance in cash or by credit card 3 days prior to delivery. Five days later I called to check the status and this is where the true nature of this company showed through...

I spoke to a person named David who told me 1. The delivery would be 2-3 days late (he never bothered to call me to tell me this) and that 2. he wouldn't accept a credit card at all as my order was too small and not worth it to him. The day prior to the NEW delivery date I called again to confirm only to be told by David he didn't know when it would be delivered, but that it would be another week at least. Again, never once did he call me to explain- I had to track him down. Long story short, the delivery took 20 days. The driver who brought my stuff called me to say he would be here within 6 hours or so. After 6 hours I called him (again nobody called me) and he said it would be later that night. LAter that night I called him and he said it would be the next morning b/c he was tired- but he told me he had to be here at 7:30 AM (on a Sunday) I asked him to move it to 9:00 AM as my building won't allow a move that early and he refused b/c "he had other things to do". The next day he arrived at late at 8:45 AM with no apology or explanation and then had the audacity to try and ask for extra money and made up surcharges that were not in the original contract. I had at this point refused to pay cash and was told by management (DAVID) I could pay with a card on delivery and he would tell the driver. The driver was never told anything and argued with me in front of the building for payment in cash AFTER I had already charged it over the phone.

I would use them if you a. don't care when your belongings arrive and b. have nothing of value that is being moved. i.e. use these guys to move boxes of wood shavings. Otherwise DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They are DISHONEST, completely disorganized and unbelievably unprofessional.

I planned to speak to the owner of the business this week only to find out that is exactly the person who was feeding me lies and excuses all along...

I wouldn't take time out of my evening to write this if I didn't feel so strongly about it...believe me, you will regret booking with this company. I wouldn't wish this upon my worst enemy.

They suck.... I got quoted and told them everything I was moving it was 750... and They came (after taking a NON REFUNDABLE 75 deposit) and loaded everything on the truck and told me it was 1200...WTF. Then everytime I called to find my stuff, I got an attitude, Plus lied about when my stuff would arrive. They also lost my 9 day old (at the time) his sleepers, oneisies, shoes, health kit, box of 200 diapers, a box of wipes, hats, booties, outfits, and a box of medicine. They also STOLE my Puma Sneakers and my PHAT FARM sneakers out of my laundry basket. I knew exactly what was missing. I contacted BBB and they just sent me a letter stating they tried to contact them and they have not recieved info and told me they reccoment me taking legal action with my case. I will sue them, They have loop holes in their contract.

i use great american van lines to move me from ct to fl they show up 9 am in the morning did all my packing load all my stuf it took them about 5 hours to packed and load my stuf then driver call me and tel me thet he will be in fl in the wekend they pick me up on monday ,the movers showup on suterday morning i have a 3 bedroom they assembely all my bedroom set togeder my dining table they realy did a great job i will recomendem to other pepole

DO NOT use American Van Lines...in fact run like hell! I made the mistake of useing them to move from NY to Arizona. Alot of my things were missing or ruined. They were wonderful at communication until they got their check. They quoted one price and on moving day gave another this company if thats what you call it is a rip off. Stay away! I would never recommend them to anyone. To date I am still trying to locate my missing items.

I used this company and they broke nearly every item or it was missing, they give you one price on the phone then once they show up ther price doubles.

Spend your money on a reel moving company not these crooks!
