RUN RUN RUN-- don't walk from these people-run like your possessions and money depended on it, because they do! The only reason they get any stars is that the original crew who loaded me were really good (thanks John), but that was the only good thing.

I got my original quote from Neighbors Moving & Storage. It was for $2108. It took almost 3 weeks for them to deliver my things and the cost skyrocketed to $4847. They charged $100 a roll for shrink wrap and charged me for a mattress cover. There was NO mattress cover on the mattress. They charged me $350 to move the piano and the day of the move the moving crew asked for $400 for "piano moving." When I showed them the receipt where I paid $350 for the move they didn't say anything else about the money, but told me that they needed more men to get the piano upstairs and another crew would be here in a couple of hours. Big shock, no one ever showed up. My piano is still sitting in the downstairs hallway and Tracie at Able said that because I refused to pay for the piano moving they would not do anything further for me.

They showed up to deliver at 7 pm and finally quit for the night after 1 am. They said they'd be back in the AM to complete the move. They were supposed to be here at 7 am, and I could see them sitting in their truck from my apartment window. When I called them after 8 am to see when they were coming up I was told they'd just woken up. Why lie about something so petty?

They broke and/or damaged several items, some irreplaceable, SCREAMED at me when I pointed it out and the company is not willing to do anything about the damaged items. They invited me to complain to whoever I wanted and have no interest in resolving the situation.

They do not answer phone calls, and promise things that they do not deliver. They provided me with the WORST MOVING EXPERIENCE of my life and it's not done yet.

These people need to understand that you can not yell at your clients or speak to them like their idiots. I had hired a moving company and did not know that they would subcontract my move to Able Moving, well the weight went up it cost me 1,000 dollars more and these clowns damaged many of my things.

This was by far the worst and most unprofessional moving experience we have ever had! We are working professionals and have moved 5 times over the last 7 years, so we speak from experience. They were dishonest from the beginning--which we found out later--near impossible to get in touch with, majorly damaged nearly 100% of the loose/furniture items they blanket-wrapped and shrink-wrapped, and damaged several other fragile items that we had packed very well and marked as fragile and top load only with arrows in the up direction as we were told. However, they packed the fragile items on their sides and the boxes were crushed several inches and definitely not top loaded! We contracted with World Wide Van Lines, who then sub'd to Able Moving. It was a nightmare and we will never use either company again, and would never recommend to anyone. I'm with others in that there should be a star option. Dishonesty and bogus charges throughout. No space for details, but just plain awful!

Why isn't there a zero star option?

I organized my move from Chicago to DC through United States Van Lines (http://www.uslvmoves.com), which contracted to Able Moving. My move was quoted around $1300 and I put a deposit down for half.

They just called to confirm the balance that needs to be paid upon delivery (which can only be paid by cashiers check or cash), and it's DOUBLE my original quote. My balance should only be around $650, but apparently I owe them $1100, bringing the total cost of my move to nearly $1800! $500 MORE THAN WAS ORIGINALLY QUOTED!

My stuff hasn't arrived yet (it will get here tomorrow or Sunday), so hopefully it's in once piece. When they give me a breakdown of the costs, I'm sure it's going to be hundreds of dollars for "extra boxes" and "labor."

DO NOT go with one of those big moving companies that contract out. Rent yourself a U-Haul or just find a local company yourself.

UPDATE: These arse-holes "lost" a number of my belongings, including a large 5x5 bookcase (how you lose a giant bookcase, I have no idea). Phone calls to Able Moving inquiring about my stolen items have gone unanswered.

I won�t let this company move my trash! The absolute worst customer service and hidden fees every where, the owner is worse then the employees what a disaster of a company.

This company sucks! The owner Jeremy can only be described as a arrogant @$$. Tried to add on all extra charges like long walking and shuttle fees because his drivers can�t drive.

Do yourself a favor and find an honest mover!

My experience started with them giving me a 2 hour notice a day early they would be there. They were there from 5:00 P.M. until 10:00 P.M. and arrived 12 days later with my furniture in pieces, literally. My coffee table was missing a leg; my end table was in 4 pieces, but connected; my other coffee table was busted up and broken; my head board was cracked; my kitchen table was cracked in the middle; my 250 solid wood TV Stand was cracked in the middle; lamps were either cracked or missing pieces; they could not put my bed together because they lost the screws and almost every piece of furniture was gauged and scraped. This is what you get when you choose this company so be smarter than I was and look elsewhere.

Able Movers are a terrible moving company. They randomly charged us for materials and were unable to provide us with a price list that day when questions came up. They were inefficient and badly damaged a leather sofa. The men knew they had damaged the sofa and I noted it on the form I signed before they left. However, the company has refused to pay for the repair as they said I needed to take pictures of the damage before it was fixed. I was not told that on the moving day or by their office when I called about the damage. They did tell me the most they would ever pay anyway was $30 as they only pay 30 cents per pound for damage, irregardless of value!
