I used budget van lines for my move to Dover. Being a single mom with two kids i thought things were going to be more stressful than usual. However, my sales person set me up with a very competitive price so i decided to take it. Although the movers they paired me with didn't wear professional uniforms they moved my belongings without a hitch. I would recommend this company to anyone looking to save a thousand dollars or more on a move.

The actual mover (Paul) was actually very good. It was Budget Van Line that was upseting. They gave us a quote of 4000 dollars on my estimate 15000 pounds. When the mover arrived he brought a van for 9000 pounds as that was what BVL told them! In addition, we paid 500 dollars to pack a piano. The piano was not packed and suffered severe damage. BVL refused to answer our complaint or reimburse us for anything.

Although the piano damage was the contracted movers fault, my biggest complaint was the error of 6K pounds despite the fact that I told them exactly how much weight we had since we had just moved it 2 years earlier.

I would recommend a different moving company. If they had reimbursed me for their error (2500 dollars) and the 500 dollars for "not protecting" the piano as contracted, I would have chaulked the experience to bad luck. In this case I believe that it is poor management and a dishonest company. I will also submit a claim to the BBB.

My move went relatively fine but Im not giving this review 5 stars based on the fact that I was caused unnecessary stress due the fact that I did not realize I would be moving with a broker. When I booked my move with Budget Van Lines, I expected a Budget Van Lines truck to show up. Im not sure if the representative I spoke with explained this to me or not because this was a last minute move and I had to rush through the whole process, but I was very dismayed when a different company showed up to move me.

That being said, after my frantic call to Budget, I was told that everything was going according to plan and to let the movers into my house to pick up my items. Again, the movers were prompt and courteous, but this was really jarring at a time when I was already going through enough stress. There were also I couple nicks on my dresser and bed posts- nothing major but still not pristine.

I recently used budget van lines for my family move and found the service to be good. The price was the real deal maker and although I was picked up a little late the money I saved made everything right.

I would use them again

Budget Moving are moving brokers and have no idea what customer services is or do they care about their clients needs.

If you want your items damaged and would like to be charged every hidden fee imaginable then Budget Moving is the place to call.

We had to move from Florida to Texas. Comparing prices, we noticed that Budget Van Lines advertised the lowest charges. We called Budget Van Lines and were promised that we would be charged a total of $1473.41. Budget Van Lines told us that they were a 'broker', which means that they contract a moving company to take the furniture.

We were promised that the movers would come either on Monday, March 30, 2009 or Tuesday, March 31, 2009. And we were promised that the furniture would be delivered in Texas on Wednesday, April 1, 2009.

On Saturday, March 28, 2009, movers from ADS Moving & Storage showed up at the apartment two days earlier than promised. They said that they had to move the furniture that morning. We called the ADS manager James White, who assured us that we would be charged the price that we were promised by Budget Van Lines. So we let them load the furniture on the truck.

But as soon as the furniture was loaded on the truck, the ADS movers told us that we would be charged $2113.34 - which is $640 more than what we were promised by Budget Van Lines.

We told the ADS movers that we wanted them to give us back our furniture. We told them that we did not want them to move the furniture for us.

The movers told us that we could not have our furniture back until we paid them the new higher price. James White, who I think is the owner of ADS, specifically said to me that we would never see our furniture again unless I agreed to pay him the new higher price on my credit card.

We called Budget Van Lines, the 'broker'. But Budget Van Lines was part of this extortion scheme. Melissa Lilly from Budget Van Lines completely supported ADS seizing our furniture against our will, and then holding our furniture hostage until we agreed to make the ransom payment.

ADS and Budget Van Lines continued to blackmail us for 6 whole days until I finally decided to make the credit card payment because I feared that we would never see our furniture again. I let them take the money from my credit card. We finally received our furniture on April 3, 2009.

ADS and Budget Van Lines are thieves, extortionists and con artists who blatantly violate the law. Their companies are like criminal enterprises. They should not only be put out of business, they belong in prison.
